The FCGC believes that growing community is as important as growing a garden. To this end, we host community building activities and encourage community discussions. For example, read about several past community building events below:
Community Garden Tour The Fayetteville Community Garden Coalition hosted a free tour of 5 community gardens in June 2011. The tour encouraged gardeners to exchange ideas and experiences, as well as share with the FCGC their successes and their needs.
The ABCD’s of Building Community Gardens That Last – Walker Park and Beyond- July 31, 2010
The Fayetteville Community Garden Coalition, The City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department and the Fayetteville Senior Activity and Wellness Center invited Walker Park neighbors and friends to kickoff the Walker Park Community Garden. The community-building event engaged participants in the planning processes of developing a community garden at Walker Park.
